The inclusion and pastoral teams work closely with students to develop self-esteem, self-awareness, self-confidence and then work closely with the student to develop the ability to self-manage their emotions and behaviours. The goal of the Academy is to always support students in developing emotionally healthy lifestyles through solid strategies that the student can own and self-manage.
Should a student require specialist support around any mental health needs, social or emotional needs, the Academy hosts weekly drop in sessions for Young Carers, weekly drop in sessions with Targeted Youth Services and twice weekly drop ins with Inspira.
The Academy is also able to sign post and refer to external specialist agencies such as Targeted Youth Services, CAMHS and Local Domestic Violence IDVAs for individual support or guidance.
The Academy will always work with a young person and their family to ensure the right services for the individual are identified and referred into.
